Home > Main Business > Defense Products We have greatly contributed to national defense in Korea through the development and production of advanced weapon systems featuring high precision. We supply armored fighting vehicles and families of vehicles, short-range surface-to-air missile systems, anti-aircraft gun systems, and multiple launcher rocket systems for the ROK Army, and the anti-air and anti-ship gun systems, and torpedo tubes for the Navy. We have also developed an altitude & orbit control system (AOCS) used on multi-purpose satellites in the aerospace industry, leading the growth of the domestic defense industry. Since we developed the Korean Infantry Fighting Vehicle (K200) utilizing our own technology in 1984, we have provided the ROK Army with a family of vehicles. Our Korean Infantry Fighting Vehicle exported to Malaysia in 1993 proved its outstanding quality and performance with the UN peacekeeping forces deployed in Bosnia. As an air defense system integrator, we have developed and commenced mass production of the low-altitude 30mm twin self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (BiHo) and self-propelled short-range surface-to-air missile system (Chunma) equipped with state-of-the-art electronic equipment such as surveillance radar, electro optical tracking system, and fire control systems. We have created an integrated system using R&D activities, advanced production, and the integrated logistic support system, as part of our efforts to develop next-generation weapon systems using our accumulated technological capability and advanced technologies. We aspire to be a world-class defense supplier by expanding R&D investment and technology exchanges to double our weapon production capacity.
